A closer look
The Symposium Reader
Turning five years of human-rights research into a book activists work in.

The Symposium Reader, published in 2025.
BRINGING THE WORK INTO PRINT
The Symposium Reader draws on five years of global dialogue and field research. The brief was to bring that material into a guidebook activists and organisers could print, share and work in.

A guide to moderation within the Reader.
I led the editorial design and production, developing the visual concept, art direction and illustrations. The design brought readings, stories and exercises together, with space for readers to write and reflect. The aim was to make the material approachable without losing its depth.

Case studies told through images and text.
Practical guides with space for notes.
ILLUSTRATION AS PART OF THE READING EXPERIENCE
Illustration gave the publication another way to engage with its ideas, alongside the written material.
Across the book, the visual language connected different contributions while giving individual sections their own character.
Illustrations created for the Reader's case studies.
